The Russians are Coming! Soviet Spies and the Secret Mapping of Torbay – Torquay Museum.

During the Cold War the Soviet Union embarked on the greatest secret intelligence-gathering operation the world has ever (not) seen, with spy satellites, reconnaissance aircraft and undercover agents gathering information from across the globe. It drew up detailed invasion maps of the great cities of the world: New York, Paris, London… and Torbay!

Abbey Christmas

Activities for all ages including a real ice rink in the grounds of the beautiful and historic Torre Abbey Museum plus live entertainment and local sourced food, drink and crafts. The annual Winter Fest Craft Fair will also be taking place in the Spanish Barn on December 5-6 and 12-13. Open from 10am to 9pm.

Brixham Pirate Festival May 1st – 3rd 2021
The annual funpacked swashbuckling celebration of pirates in Brixham. Dress up and take the ferry from Torquay as parking will be limited. Find out more at:

BrixFest Brixham

A three day celebration of this charming fishing town with live music, cooking demonstrations, an arts and crafts market, vintage car rally, crabbing competitions and heritage crafts exhibitions. Saturday May 29th – a huge firework display begins at 9.50pm and will be visible from the inner harbour. Sunday 30th – Dragon boat racing. Bank Holiday Monday – a children’s day with free family activities.The Brixham Heritage Sailing Regatta with the traditional red-sailed trawlers also takes place during BrixFest from May 29-30.

Journey: Mayflower 400 – Torre Abbey

An exhibition of original prints inspired by the journey taken by the Mayflower 400 years ago from 40 artists. One copy of each print will be held by the Cape Cod Museum of Art in its archive to commemorate this event.
